Group Spanish Classes in Melbourne: In a face-to-face Class or a Virtual Class Online
Looking for Spanish classes in Melbourne with face-to-face learning? You’ve come to the right place, as we are one of the few places in the city that still offers in-person instruction, but that also have has online options as well, and we’re flexible if you want to mix up your options a bit. If your schedule is a bit unpredictable, or even if it just suits you to do some classes online for whatever reason, we can sort that out. Can’t make a class on a particular day? We’ll probably be able to fit you into another one, and if that doesn’t work, we have preexisting recordings of all our lessons, so technically you’ll never miss a lesson!
Group Spanish classes in Melbourne are carried out in our language school in Hawthorn, which has ample off-street parking. It is opposite Glenferrie Station, so it’s close to all the main things. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of seven people, but usually there will be around three or fourHave a look at a map of the school.
All onlineclasses are conducted though the Zoom platform, so you needn’t be in Melbourne for your Spanish lessons. Just click on a link to appear in a virtual classroom with a live teacher and students you can interact with.
The courses offered run four times per year, and are generally structured asten-week terms, with classes lasting 1.5 hours. Term 2 will run over eight weeks, with slightly longer sessions of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
We are currently in the middle of term 1, but it’s not too late to join at a discounted rate. Alternatively, you may prefer to start fresh with term 2, commencing Monday 13th April.
Term 2 2026 Spanish Classes: 13th April – 5th June
Fluency-Building Courses for 2026
The flagship classes at the Travelling Koala! Currently, we offer nine types of Spanish fluency-building courses throughout the year.
There are nine levels, three beginner (A, B, and C), three intermediate (A, B, and C), and three advanced (A, B, and C),each building on the previous level.
Most classes, whether beginner or advanced, have multiple day and time slots. They are designed to help students grasp the basics or improve their knowledge of the Spanish language. Our Spanish language classes in Melbourne are intended for people ranging from complete beginners to seasoned linguists who wish to travel overseas and need basic travel skills, to those who wish to hit a reasonable conversational level or take that level beyond. The classes are also for those looking to have fun and expose themselves to Hispanic culture in an interactive learning environment.
Emphasis is on vocabulary, everyday phrases and conversation. Grammar relevant to the skill level will also be introduced and expanded upon, depending on the level. Learning will be done through a cross-training approach, and will include reading, writing, role-play (oral conversation) and listening.
If your Spanish is quite good, or if you’re a fast learner and you’re the type of person who throws themselves in, you might enjoy these hybrid classes.
Conversation topics might include food or travel. Grammar topics are covered as they come up in conversation, and certain weeks might be dedicated to a general beginner or intermediate topic, such as reflexive verbs, or the preterit and the imperfect. Check for availability of more advanced classes that cover themes such as climate change or space exploration.
